The multi-year Growth 2028 project strengthens Piako Oy’s production capacity and supports the company’s expansion in both domestic and international markets.

Piako Oy is launching a new development initiative aimed at significantly accelerating its growth and internationalisation. The project, titled Growth 2028, focuses on enhancing production resources, opening new markets, and expanding the company’s product portfolio.

The project consists of two main components. The first focuses on scaling up production capacity and growing current export markets, particularly for the company’s trailer product family. Demand for trailers has been boosted by recent regulatory changes in Finland and Sweden, which now allow for longer and more environmentally efficient transport combinations. To meet this growing demand, Piako is planning substantial investments to increase capacity and optimise production solutions.

The second part of the project targets a completely new product segment: heavily insulated transport vehicles. This product group is designed for temperature-controlled food transportation, a market that is stable and growing in both Finland and Northern Europe. Developing this new product family requires investments and the expansion of in-house expertise, allowing Piako to serve a broader customer base more comprehensively.

The goal of the project is not only to increase turnover and exports but also to strengthen the company’s long-term competitiveness. In addition, the initiative will create new jobs and enhance the vitality of the local region. Piako has been manufacturing vehicle superstructures for commercial transport for over 40 years, with a particular focus in recent decades on heavy-duty solutions. This new project continues that development and enables the company to take the next step towards a stronger international position.

The Growth 2028 project is co-funded by the European Union.
